OBA OF BENIN TASKS MUSLIM ON PRAYER FOR PEACE

Apparently concerned about the 2020 governorship election in Edo State, His Royal Majesty, OmoN’ObaN’EdoUkuAkpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin has task Muslims in the state to continue to pray for peace and progress of Edo State.
The Oba of Benin who received the Muslim faithfuls who paid him a Salah visit in the Palace said the prayers offered by the Palace contributed to the peace recorded during the 2019 general elections.
Oba Ewuare II expressed worries over the activities of herdsmen in the state and charged Muslims faithfuls to intensify prayer so that those behind the evil acts and senseless killings are exposed and brought to book.
The Benin Monarch emphasised that no meaningful development can thrive in the atmosphere of insecurity and rancour and called for collective effort to ensure that Edo State is safe for all to live in.
While wishing the Chief Imam and the entire Muslims in the state a happy Salah celebration, the OmoN’Oba charged them to pray to Allah to grant the nation’s leaders wisdom and good health to lead the nation and the people on the path of peace, unity, progress and development.
The Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque Abdul Fatah IkponmwosaEnabulele said it is customary for Muslims to pay Salah visit to OmoN’Oba to offer prayers for peace and progress of Benin Kingdom.
The Chief Imam said since Oba Ewuare II ascended the throne there has been peace and progress in the Kingdom and pray that Allah should grant the Oba long life and good health so that His Royal Majesty would do more for his people.
Enabulele said the Muslims in the state have enjoyed very robust relationship with the Palace, hence they will remain grateful to the Oba of Benin for been father of all.
